Signature: "George R. Ariyoshi", 3½x2 card. George Ryoichi Ariyoshi (born in 1926), the first Japanese-American to be elected to a governorship, served as Governor of Hawaii from 1974-1986, the longest term in the state's history. (Terms limits prevented him from seeking a fourth term.) A Democrat, Airyoshi had previously served in the Hawaiian Territorial House of Representatives (1954-1958) and Senate (1958-1959) and in the Hawaii State Senate (1959-1970) before becoming Lieutenant Governor (1970-1973). Fine condition.
