"1930" written (unknown hand) at upper margin; partial 1930 date written by
Parker at lower margin. George S. Parker (1863-1937) was a telegraphy
instructor who sold and repaired pens to supplement his income. Deciding
that he could make a better pen than those he was constantly repairing,
Parker patented his first fountain pen in 1889. He built Parker Pens into
a successful worldwide business, combining innovative pen designs with
skillful marketing. Lightly creased. Rectangular shading at the "eo", "S." and
"Park" and at two words of inscription (all legible). Irregularly cut at lower
right blank margin. Black photo corners at all four corners. Otherwise, fine
condition.
