Magazine Cover signed: “With compliments/ George Sosnovsky” in blue felt tip, 8¼x11¼. October 1966, Volume 66, Number 5. “The Chemistry of Organometallic and Organometalloid Peroxides” co-written with Judith H. Brown, appeared in the issue of Chemical Reviews from which this cover was taken. George Sosnovsky (b. 1920) is a Professor Emeritus of Chemistry at the University of Wisconsin at Milwaukee. After receiving his Ph.D. from the University of Innsbruck in 1948, Sosnovsky joined the chemistry faculty at the University of Wisconsin in 1967. In 1969, he co-founded the Journal Synthesis and subsequently served as its editor until 1985. Dr. Sosnovsky has written over 175 published articles and has authored two books: Free Radical Reaction in Preparative Organic Chemistry (1964) and Harmful effects of solar radiation, myths and facts about sunscreen agents, oxidative stress, cancer and other inflammatory diseases. His recent research projects have included evaluations of both anti-cancer drugs and of enhancing agents for MRI. Indentations and creasing throughout. Corners and edges gently worn.
