George Romney". B/w, 8x10 overall, image 7¼x8¼ (one surface). Chairman and
President of American Motors Corporation from 1954-1962, George W. Romney
(1907-1995) served as Governor of Michigan (1963-1969) and Nixon's
Secretary of Housing and Urban Development (1969-1973). Born in a Mormon
community in Chihuahua, Mexico to American citizens, Romney unsuccessfully
sought the 1968 Republican presidential nomination. His son, Mitt Romney, was
Governor of Massachusetts from 2003-2007. Mitt, who did not seek re-election
in 2006, was exploring interest in a presidential bid in 2007. Lightly creased
at blank margins and corners. Paper clip impression at upper margin and
background, black mark at lower margin. Minor surface creases, scratches and
impressions (most not evident head on), impressions and light scratch at hair.
