Writing his wife Babe Zaharias's manager Fred Corcoran about his wife's golf touring plans
Typed Letter Signed: "George Zaharias",1 page 7¼x10½. Denver, Colorado, 1949 May 5. On letterhead of the Hotel Denver to "Dear Fred". In full: "Dear Fred: I received your letter and glad to hear from you. 'Babe' at the last moment decided to play in Dallas, and is there now starting today. I don't know how she will do as her shoulder is still painful and can hardly raise it. I don't know why she did not tell me of her condition of her shoulder when we were in Florida. So we will have to wait and see how she feel's after she get's back from Dallas She will be home on the 10th day of May, but she told me she does'nt want any exhibition's before the Essex Fall's. N.J. tournament. There is a few date's open after the tournament but I have book her starting on the 4th of June at Latrobe, Penna, Pittsburg the 5th, Mabe the 6th in Sharon, Penna. The 7th in Cleveland for the Damon Runyon Cancer Fund at Hawthorne Valley Country Club. You might mention this to Walter Winchell. The Serbin Bro's are taking care of all expenses and everything that come's in the gat goes to the fund. Also Logansport Ind, on the 8th. You know the Western start's in Oklahoma City on the 20th of June and I will book her down thru there on the way two or three more exhibition's as she does not want to work any after the 15th. All these Eastern booking's that you have she will make when she goes to Grossinger's for a couple of week's and we will have a whole month-to make them before she play's in the open at Landover, Maine. Hoping this find's you in the best, Sincerely George. They married later that year, and George managed Babe's golf career thereafter, also caring for her during her long battle with cancer.
