Ticket for the lecture series sponsored by the Freeport Rotary Club and organized by the Institute of International Understanding at the Embury Church. Seger's lecture was slated for Tuesday October 21, 1941 at 8:15pm. Newspaper photo, b/w, 1¾x3 attached to verso. Gerhart H. Seger (1896-1967) was an editor, an author, and a lecturer. In particular, he functioned as the editor of what he claimed as "the oldest anti-Nazi newspaper in German language, published in the U.S.". Among his other goals, he sought to the make clear to skeptical German-Americans that the concentration camps in Europe were a reality and not merely wartime propaganda used to justify U.S. involvement in the Second World War.
