Research Triangle Park, North Carolina, 1995 August 29. On
letterhead of The Wellcome Research Laboratories and addressed to Del Reddy,
Westland, Michigan. In full: "Dear Mr. Reddy, Thanks for your kind
words and for letting me see the picture taken s Inventure Place. That really
was a fun week-end. I don't have an 8x10 photo but perhaps the enclosed 5x7 will
do. Best regards, Sincerely" Biochemist and pharmacologist Gertrude B.
Elion (1918-1999) shared the 1988 Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine for
her "discoveries of important principles for drug treatment." She produced drugs
for herpes, leukemia, malaria, gout and immune disorders. Lightly creased.
