GERTRUDE NIESEN (1911-1975) performed pop standards by all the great songwriters
of her era (1930s-1950s). Her stage performances included the lead in the
Broadway musical Follow the Girls (1944-1946). Two of her albums have
recently been re-released: My Best Wishes (1938) and I Wanna Get
Married (1945). FRANK LIBERMAN (b. 1904) was a veteran Hollywood
publicist whose clients included Bob Hope, Phyllis Diller and David Janssen.
He retired in 2001. His memoir, The Greats and Ingrates, relates
many inside stories about show business personalities. These notes were
dedicated to cabaret singer and international recording star Hildegarde Sell
(1906-2005), better known simply as "the Incomparable Hildegarde."
