Don Adams starred as Agent Maxwell Smart, assisted by Barbara Feldon as Agent 99. Mel Brooks created the pilot, while Buck Henry did most of the story editing. Edward Platt played the Chief of CONTROL, and many quality guest stars were featured. Comic actor DON ADAMS (1923-2005) is best known for his Emmy-winning role as bumbling secret agent of this series, and in a 1980 feature film, The Nude Bomb, and in a short-lived 1995 revival. Adams. He was the as the voice of Inspector Gadget in the animated series (1983-1986 and in syndication), and appeared in several feature films and on TV series, beginning with The Bill Dana Show (1963-1965). A youthful contestant on TV's $64,000 Question, then a model and actress in TV commercial, BARBARA FELDON (b. 1933) was nominated for an Emmy as Agent 99 in Get Smart. She has appeared in occasional films and TV series since, including a praised role in Smile (1975), and she narrated a PBS series, The Dinosaurs (1991).
