In 1956, 20-year-old JAMES DARREN'S (1936-2024) movie debut was as the star of Rumble on the Docks, which also starred Robert Blake. Darren was also Moondoggie in three Gidgetmovies (1959, 1961, 1963). In 1961, Darren recorded "Goodbye Cruel World" which rose to #3 on the charts. As a recording star, he also reached the Top 40 in 1967 with "All" and hit the charts in 1977 with "You Take My Heart Away". Darren starred in two TV series, Time Tunnel (1966-1967) and T. J. Hooker (1982-1986) and co-starred on Star Trek Deep Space Nine as hologram crooner Vic Fontaine (1998-1999), reprising songs from the series on his 1999 album, This One's From the Heart. He also starred as Tony Marlin on Melrose Placein 1999. MICHAEL "MICKEY" CALLAN (1934-2022) starred in Broadway musicals of the 1950s, most notably as Riff, leader of the Jets in West Side Story (1957-1959). Named the Golden Globe New Male Star of the Year (1960), Callan appeared in many films of the sixties (Cat Ballou, 1965) and occasional ones thereafter (Freeway, 1988). He starred in the daytime drama One Life to Live (1985-1987) and remained a frequent TV guest star through the 1990s. Best known for her 1961 film, Gidget Goes Hawaiian, DEBORAH WALLEY (1943-2001) was a multitalented stage, screen and television actress, producer and author. Named "Photoplay" magazine's Most Popular Actress in 1961, Walley also appeared in a number of other films, including Beach Blanket Bingo (1965), Tammy and the Millionaire (1967) and Benji (1974), and she also starred on the TV series, Mothers-in-Law(1967-1969), and made guest appearances on a long list of TV shows. After leaving Hollywood for Arizona, Walley founded two children's theater companies and wrote and produced anaward-winning short film, The Vision of Seeks-to-Hunt Great (1990). She incorporated her ideas for the film into a children's book and also wrote scripts for her own production company and for Disney Animation, for whom she did voiceovers. Walley was married to actor John Ashley from 1962-1966. Fine condition.
