He signs by his picture on the cover of a program for the New York comedy club Carolines on Broadway
Program signed: "Gilbert Gottfried," 4 pages (integral leaf), 5½x8¾. Program for a performance at the comedy club Carolines on Broadway. On verso is a printed biography of Gottfried, and list of future appearances by other comedians. With possibly the most distinctive - and grating - voice of any modern comedian, Gilbert Gottfried, born in 1955, has built his reputation upon a squinty, whiny, obnoxious persona. (Gottfried has reportedly pegged this persona as "somewhere between Pat Boone and Jeffrey Dahmer", if that helps) He got his start in stand-up comedy (with a dead-to-rights Dracula impersonation that was strangely similar to his impersonation of the Pope) before gaining his first national exposure during the 1980-1981 season of Saturday Night Live. Since then, Gottfried has performed in over 100 TV and movie roles as of this biography. A voice like his makes him a natural for cartoon and video game voice acting; Disney fans may remember him as the treacherous talking parrot Iago in Aladdin (1992). He's also been a frequent guest on Hollywood Squares and The Howard Stern Show and hosted USA Networks late movie show Up All Night. Signature lightly beaded (legible). Fine condition.
