GINGER LEES
Signed picture post card of the 1932 National League Champion racer.
A rare signature! (3½x5½)
Picture post card signed: "Ginger Lees", in black ink. B/w,
3½x5½. Ginger Lees (1905-1982) made his professional motorcycle racing
debut in 1928 at a spring event in Manchester. He started his career with Bumley
but moved to the Liverpool Chads in 1930 and to Preston in 1931. Lees ran an
impressive race in the England v. Australia matchup of 1931, catching the eye of
the Wembley Lions who signed him the following season. In 1932 he took
home the inaugural National League championship. He later placed in the
Star Riders' Championship and the World Championships in 1936 and
1937. He retired in 1937. Lightly rippled and toned. Signature in poor contrast,
hardly legible. Adhesive residue on verso (no show through).
