The 1964 British film Girl With Green Eyes follows a young girl as
she begins to fall in love with an older man. PETER FINCH (1916-1977), an
English actor, appeared on stage from 1936 and was a popular film and radio
actor in Australia. Moving to London with Laurence Olivier's encouragement in
1949, he earned the British Film Academy's Best Actor award four times, for
A Town Like Alice (1956), The Trials of Oscar Wilde (1960), No
Love for Johnnie (1961) and Sunday, Bloody Sunday (1971). The
latter film earned him an Oscar nomination for Best Actor. He became the
first actor to win an Oscar posthumously (Best Actor) as the crazy TV news
anchor in Network (1976). RITA TUSHINGHAM, born in Garston,
Liverpool, England in 1940, is an English actress with over 60 movies and TV
shows to her credit as of this biography. Tushingham's acting debut was at 16 as
Rabbit and "Back Legs of Horse" in Toad of Toad Hall, but her movie debut
was more mature fare, as Jo in the film adaptation of A Taste of Honey
(1961). This won her a Best Actress Award at the Cannes Film Festival, and she
turned in more critic-pleasing performances in The Leather Boys and
The Girl with Green Eyes (1963). Her career slowed after 1970 and, after
a turn on the TV series No Strings (1974), she only had sporadic
appearances. Her career was jumpstarted with A Judgment in Stone (1986),
and her appearances on TV and in movies became more frequent, especially after
2000. Among her memorable roles were Aunt Lily in An Awfully Big
Adventure. Corners creased. Multiple holes punched at right edge (not
effecting signature). Small tear at right edge. Otherwise, fine
condition.
