Two signatures inscribed to Louie.
Inscribed signatures: "To Louie/Gisele MacKenzie" and, on verso, "To Louie -/Alan Baxter", 5¾x4 album leaf. GISELE MacKENZIE (1927-2003), who had her own radio show in her native Canada in the late 1940s, became familiar to American TV viewers as a regular on Your Hit Parade (1953-1957). She had some minor pop hits in the 1950s ("Hard to Get", "Pepper-Hot Baby"), and MacKenzie recorded several albums of popular music, starred on regional theatre stages and made TV guest appearances into the 1980s. She also wrote a song ("My City, L.A.") in praise of her adopted home that became quite popular. ALAN BAXTER (1908-1976) often played sinister roles in a film career of 35 years. He is perhaps best remembered as the Nazi spy at the Hoover Dam in Hitchcock's Saboteur (1942). Minor show through of ink. Binding holes at blank right margin. Fine condition.
