Typed Letter signed: "Gisele", 6x9. No place, 1958 January 8. On personal letterhead to "Dear Miss Moore", in full: "Thank you so much for your kind letter and good wishes. I hope we may prove deserving of your confidence and friendship by continuing to bring you the kind of television entertainment you like. Thanks again for your support. Sincerely yours". Gisele MacKenzie (1927-2003), who had her own radio show in her native Canada in the late 1940s, became familiar to American TV viewers as a regular on Your Hit Parade (1953-1957). She left that show to host The Gisele MacKenzie Show, which debuted September 26, 1957, and ran for one season. MacKenzie scored some minor hits in the 1950s ("Hard to Get", "Pepper-Hot Baby"), while recording several albums of popular music, starring on regional theatre stages and making TV guest appearances into the 1980s. She also wrote a song ("My City, L.A.") in praise of her adopted home, it became quite popular. Mounting residue affixed on verso. Soiled. Lightly creased. Lightly frayed at bottom edges. Otherwise, fine condition.
