Photograph inscribed and signed: "Al caro amico/Diego G. Tommerenck/per ricordo/Giulio Neri/1951/8 Settembre 1951". [translation: "To a dear friend ... in remembrance". B/w, 7x5. Italian operatic bass Giulio Neri (1909-1958) made his stage debut in Rome in 1935, and was a star of the Rome Opera by 1938. He first performed at Milan's La Scala in 1941. After World War II, he was seen on world stages from London to Buenos Aires. Neri was best known for his Italian repertoire, but also sang some Wagnerian roles. Lightly creased. Lightly worn. ¼-inch tear at bottom edge. Otherwise, fine condition.
