GLADYS FRAZIN
Having lost the key to her safe deposit box, she penned this letter to the bank, asking
that her husband be allowed to retrieve his cigarette lighter from it. A rare signature.
Autograph Letter signed: "Gladys Frazin", 1 page, 6x7½. No place, no date. On personal
letterhead to "Dear Mr. Dugan, Bank of America". In full: "As I have lost or mislaid the
keys to my safe deposit box will you please give Mr. Banks access to it as his cigarette
case is in there and he wants it. A million thanks for all your kindness. Sincerely". Gladys
Frazin (1901-1939) appeared in silent and early talking films from 1924 to 1932, including
Inspiration (as the dancer who redeems a dissipated George Walsh) and Kiss Me Sergeant.
When she wrote this letter, she was married to fellow actor Monty Banks. Frazin
committed suicide by leaping from a New York City apartment window. Edges frayed. Mailing
fold through center. Ink note (unknown hand) on verso. Corners lightly worn. Otherwise, fine
condition.
