GLEN SONMOR The NHL player and coach signed his name on this 4¼x4¾ black and white image that features him on the ice in his New York Rangers uniform Newspaper photograph signed: "Glen Sonmor", in blue felt tip, B/w 3¾x4 affixed to a 4¼x4¾ card (2 surfaces). Glen Sonmor (1929-2015) is a retired ice hockey player, hailing from Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan, Canada, where he was a college star in in basketball, football, baseball, and hockey. He ultimately pursued hockey, signing a C form with the Cleveland Barons of the AHL, but played in junior hockey leagues with the Guelph Biltmores and the Brandon Wheat Kings. His time with the Brandon Wheat Kings would earn him a place in the Manitoba Hockey Hall of Fame in 2006. While he had a minor stay with the New York Rangers, he is best remembered for his coaching career, starting in the WHA. He went on to coach the Minnesota North Stars (1978-1987), though his time with them was overshadowed by alcoholism problems and violent fights. He eventually stepped down and went on to become a radio analyst for University of Minnesota.  Toned. Ink note (unknown hand) on verso. Otherwise, fine condition.
