Printed Card Signed in Pencil: "Glenda Farrell", 4 x 5. Signed on a printed question card of the type distributed during performances of "Myrus - the Man with the X-Ray Eyes - Wizard of Mental Telepathy" at the Club Lamaze, Hollywood California. Elsie Myrus, wife of the performer, acquired signatures from celebrities on the cards intended for members of the audience to ask questions of Myrus. Glenda Farrell (1904-1971) was in a theater company from childhood. She portrayed brassy blondes in many films of the 1930s, including Little Caesar (1931), Havana Widows (1933) and Gold Diggers of 1937. She played girl reporter Torchy Blane in 8 films, before Jane Wyman replaced her in the role. Preferring stage roles, she left Hollywood in 1939 when her Warner Bros. contract expired, but she made many TV guest appearances in the 1950s and sixties, winning an Emmy for a performance on Ben Casey (1963).
