Signed Autograph Note to chanteuse Hildegarde Sell, calling her "my favorite artist."
Autograph Note signed: "To Hildegarde/My favorite Artist/Sincerely/Glenn Anders", 6x5. A stage actor who got his start in vaudeville, Glenn Anders (1889-1981) appeared in over three dozen Broadway plays between 1919 and 1958, including three Pulitzer Prize-winning plays: Hell Bent for Heaven and They Knew What They Wanted (both 1924) and Strange Interlude (1928). His rare film appearances including The Lady from Shanghai (1947) and the remake of M (1951). He appeared in several TV playhouse performances in the early 1950s. This note was addressed to cabaret signer Hildegarde Sell (1896-1905), known as "the Incomparable Hildegarde". Slightly soiled along right edge. Ink note on verso. Minor show-through from front to back. Otherwise, fine condition.
