His ink signature on a photocopy of someone's Texas Teacher Certificate
Signature: "Glenn Cunningham", 8½x8. Ink signature in blank lower margin of a photocopy of the Texas Teacher Certificate. The undated certificate shows Jackie Lee Pruett to possess a lifetime competence in eight areas of education. Glenn Cunningham (1909-1988) was one of the world's top middle distance runners during the 1930s, winning the prestigious Sullivan Award in 1933 as the nation's top amateur athlete. Cunningham won two national collegiate titles and eight AAU crowns and set a world one-mile record of 4:06.8 in 1934 that stood for three years. Cunningham won a silver medal in the 1936 Olympics 1,500-meter run. Pruett was an autograph collector, who often solicited signatures on behalf of his students. Cunningham was not signing here in any official capacity. Photocopy marks at top edge. Light creases not affecting signature, otherwise, fine condition.
