After making his screen debut in 20th Century-Fox's Heaven With a Barbed Wire Fence (1939), GLENN FORD (1916-2006) played diverse roles, including darker characters like Richard Dadier in The Blackboard Jungle (1955), romantic leading men like Elliott Nash in The Gazebo (1959) and rugged western heroes such as the namesake Yancey “Cimarron” Cravat in Cimarron (1960). In 1958, Ford was voted the number one male box-office attraction. Later in his career, he appeared on various television series and made-for-TV movies. Ford also made a notable appearance in Superman (1978). He was awarded a Golden Globe for his performance in the 1961 film Pocketful of Miracles. Ford enlisted in the military three times, but, to his dismay, he did not see any action on the front lines of either WWII or the Vietnam War. Gently creased. Bank cancellation holes. Light show-through of bank stamps on verso to front. Ink note (unknown hand) at upper margin. Otherwise, fine condition.
