(b.1962) is a retired minor league hockey player who began his career in the
AHL in 1984 with the Springfield Indians. Although the New York
Islanders drafted him in the 1985-86 season, Johannessen only played two
games before returning to the AHL. Johannessen also played a few seasons in the
IHL with the Kalamazoo Wings, the Peoria Rivermen, and in his last season of
play, the Indianapolis Ice. After he retired at the end of the 1988-89
season, Johannessen began a career in art education, becoming the first
president of the The Art Institute of Tampa in 2003. In 2009, Johannessen
became the president of Potomac College. In the AHL, Johannessen played
159 games, scoring 20 goals and aiding in 10 assists. Edges lightly worn.
