Dresbach/ April 16, 1938" 4½x3. Newspaper photo, b/w, 1¾x2¾, of the poet affixed on
left-hand side of album leaf. Glenn Ward Dresbach (1889-1968) was widely published poet
and the recipient of many awards including the Hamlin Garland Prize, American Literary
Association Prize, and the George Sterling Memorial Prize. He was also named United States
Poet Laureate International. During his time as the University of Wisconsin, he served as
editor of Wisconsin Magazine and earned an intercollegiate award for poetry. From 1916 to
1950, he published eleven books of poetry, among them his Selected Poems (1931) and
The Collected Poems, 1914-1948, of Glenn Ward Dresbach. In 1941, he moved to Eureka
Springs, located in Carroll County in the Ozarks. Toned. Additional album leaf with what
appears to be a magazine clipping, is included. Toned, especially at edges. Otherwise, fine
condition.
