Born Myrtle Audrey Arinsberg in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, pop singer Gogi Grant (1924-2016) is best known for her 1956 hit song “The Wayward Wind”, which shot to No. 1 in the U.S. and reached the Top 10 in Great Britain. Grant also had a Top 10 hit with “Suddenly There's A Valley” in 1955.In 1957, she provided the vocals for Ann Blyth's portrayal of Helen Morgan in The Helen Morgan Story. The soundtrack was released in 1958. She appeared in film and television productions in the late 1950s and 1960s, including The Big Beat (1958) and an episode of The Lloyd Bridges Show (in 1963). Her last charting single, “The Sea”, was released in 1967. Lightly toned. Photograph is lightly cracked, creased and bowed and has lightly creased corners and light scratches on image (not visible head-on). Notes are lightly rippled.
