Arinsberg in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, pop singer Gogi Grant (1924-2016) is best known
for her 1956 hit song “The Wayward Wind”, which shot to No. 1 in the U.S. and reached
the Top 10 in Great Britain. Grant also had a Top 10 hit with “Suddenly There's A Valley”
in 1955.In 1957, she provided the vocals for Ann Blyth's portrayal of Helen Morgan in The
Helen Morgan Story. The soundtrack was released in 1958. She appeared in film and
television productions in the late 1950s and 1960s, including The Big Beat (1958) and an
episode of The Lloyd Bridges Show (in 1963). Her last charting single, “The Sea”, was
released in 1967. Lightly toned, creased and bowed. Signature is lightly smeared in places and
has poor adhesion in places but is legible. Lightly creased corners with light chipping in top
right corner. Irregular left and right edges. Light chipping along left edge. Light impressions
and scratches on image (not visible head-on).
