The actor writes to John Willis of Theater World in regard to a
delayed response for photograph submission.

Sincerely." Gordon Connell (b.1923)began his theatrical
career by performing in San Francisco, California night clubs like the The
Purple Onion and The Hungry I, making his Broadway debut in
Subways Are For Sleeping (1962), and also performing in the
Tony Award winning Hello, Dolly! (1964-1970),
Lysistrata (1972), The Human Comedy (1984), and
Big River (1985-1987). Connell also made several television
appearances on The Jeffersons, The Incredible Hulk,
reoccurring roles on The Love Boat, and later Law and
Order as well as Sex and the City. Gordon Connell's only movie
role was in Roman Polanski's critically acclaimed Rosemary's Baby.
John A. Willis (1916-2010), active in Theatre World from the
beginning, became its chief editor in 1965, holding that position until
2008. Willis is regarded as one of the foremost theatre and film historians
of the 20th century. While producing (and presenting) the annual Theatre World
Awards, Willis also served on the nominating committee for the Tony Awards.
Theatre World, which received its own Tony for Excellence in
Theatre in 2001, continues under chief editor Ben Hodges. Lightly creased at
bottom left and right corners. Slight creasing at top left corner. Lightly
toned. Traces of adhesive from binding at top of letter. Otherwise, fine
condition.
