GORDON "PORKY" LEE
Gordon "Porky" Lee sends an autograph letter about a package and what it might include.
Autograph Letter Signed: "Gordon" (and "Porky Lee" in text), 1p, 8½x11. Denver, Colorado, no date. On letterhead of O'Tay Productions to Bruce. In full: "Pardon the delay, long story. If you can get through to the people, the package might include 50+ studio stills, pages of clippings - an original script etc. Also, for the right price a Hal Roach Studios sweater with Porky Lee on the back - we all had them and the pics of us wearing them is well published. Enjoyed Fla and our conversations. Best of luck on this." Photograph of Lee at upper left. Captioned: "Gordon E. Lee/Our Gang-Porky-Little Rascals/O'Tay Productions". Gordon Eugene Lee (1933-2005) made his debut as "Porky" in 1935 in an episode entitled "Little Sinner". Appearing in a number of Our Gang films over the next four years, he is best remembered for teaming up with Buckwheat for some of the gang's classic comedy moments. "O'tay" (meaning "Okay") was Porky's only line. Lee was also seen in the syndicated TV version of the comedies, which aired as The Little Rascals. Lightly creased. Slightly soiled at upper and lower right edges, paper clip impression at upper blank margin. Ink note (unknown hand) above "Bruce", which is circled. Fine condition.
