To left of his signature, Brooks has written: "'A Little-Bird-Told-Me'/'My-Old-Flame'". Former Phys Ed major and military drill instructor GORDON SCOTT (1927-2007), born Gordon M. Werschkul, was selected to play the 11th movie Tarzan in 1955's Tarzan's Hidden Jungle, the first of his six Tarzan outings, which also included Tarzan and the Lost Safari (1957), Tarzan and the Trappers (1958), Tarzan's Greatest Adventure (1958), Tarzan's Fight for Life (1958) and Tarzan the Magnificent (1960). His first Tarzan film also starred actress Vera Miles, whom Scott married after the filming (they divorced in1959). In the 1960s, Scott starred in a number of Italian sword-and-sandal epics as characters such as Goliath, Samson, Coriolanus and Hercules. He later appeared in Portnoy's Complaint (1972) and Fire in the Sky (1993). Saxophonist and clarinetist JOE DARENSBOURG (1906-1985) was one of the purest soloists in traditional jazz. He led his own group, scoring a hit with "Yellow Dog Blues", and played and recorded with other jazz greats, including Kid Ory, Teddy Buckner and Louis Armstrong's All Stars. From 1973-1975, Darensbourg toured with The Legends of Jazz. Pianist and composer HARVEY BROOKS (b. 1944), who wrote "A Little Bird Told Me", performed with Joe Darensbourg in the 1950s. The keyboard artist was co-leader of the Quality Four Combo and later performed with Paul Howard's Quality Serenaders, Kid Ory's band and a band led by trumpeter Teddy Bruckner. At the time of his death, he was the leader of The Young Men of New Orleans jazz ensemble. Light show through of writing on verso.
