(1983) is an American film by Orion Pictures that tells the story of a detective dedicated to
finding a murderer, starring William Hurt and Joanna Pacula. WILLIAM HURT
(1950-2022) wonan Academy Award for Best Actor in 1985 for Kiss of the Spider
Woman and was nominated for Oscars in the same category for Children of a Lesser God
(1986) and Broadcast News (1987). Hurt, who made his debut in 1980 in Altered States,
became a star and sex symbol with his next film, Body Heat (1981), opposite Kathleen
Turner. His other film credits include The Accidental Tourist (1988), Lost in Space (1998),
A.I.: Artificial Intelligence (2001) and Tuck Everlasting (2002), and Hurt has also appeared in
made-for-TV movies and was nominated for a Tony Award for Hurlyburly (1985).
JOANNA PACULA (1957) was born in Tomaszow Lubelski, Poland and began acting at the
age of 20. She found her start when she joined the Warsaw Dramatic Theatre and began
performing in productions of Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet, As You Like It, and Othello.
She performed at the theatre until 1981 when she was caught in Poland after the authorities
declared martial law. After eventually coming to the United States, she had her feature film
debut in the 1983 film Gorky Park, alongside William Hurt. She has since been featured in
more than 60+ films including Eye of the Beholder (1992), Every Breath (1994), The Art
of Murder (1999), No Place Like Home (2002), Black Widow (2010), and most recently
2012's Amazing Racer. Bottom right corner creased. Unknown residue on verso (no
