American Democratic politician George Wilbur Peck (1840-1916) served as the Governor of Wisconsin from 1891 to 1895. He also served as the Mayor of Milwaukee (1890). Before his political career, Peck was best known as the founder of Peck's Sun (originally named The Sun in 1874), which featured his humorous "Peck's Bad Boy" stories. His writings were later used as the basis of television series and films, including the movie Peck's Bad Boy (1934) starring Jackie Cooper. Toned. Lightly soiled. Otherwise, fine condition.
