Typed letter signed: "John Carlin", in black ink, 1 page, 8½x11. February 8, 1985, Topeka, Kansas. On his gubernatorial letterhead, State of Kansas, Office of the Governor, to "Dear David" David Coxon, North Las Vegas, Nevada, in full: "I have recently received a letter requesting that I send you an autographed photograph. I am honored to send you an autographed picture postcard and also other information about Kansas [not included]. I hope you will enjoy this information. I hope someday you will have a chance to visit Kansas and see how beautiful it is for yourself. Best wishes to you from the State of Kansas,". John Carlin (b.1940) served as Kansas's 40th Governor from 1979-1987. When elected he was the youngest Kansas Governor of the 20th Century at 38 years old. He chaired the National Governors Association from 1984 to 1985, and later served as the 8th Archivist of the United States from 1995 to 2005. Normal mailing folds. Fine condition.
