In full: "Thank you for your nice letter, and as per your request, I am enclosing herewith a personally autographed picture for your collection. With kind personal regards, I am sincerely". Photograph inscribed and signed: "To/Danny Franklin/Best Wishes/John Brown/Gov & Lieut Gov/of Ohio". Color, 8x10., Ink slightly beaded. Slightly creased at blank margins and corners. Fine condition. Governor John William Brown (1913-1993) was a state politician for 25 years, beginning his political career as Mayor of Medina, Ohio, in 1950. He served two stints as Lieutenant Governor, from 1953-1957 (one term), and from 1963-1975 (three terms). He was briefly the Governor of Ohio after Frank J. Lausche resigned to take his United States Senate seat. Serving only 11 days, he gave the Ohio Historical Society five boxes of gubernatorial papers. Fine condition.
