Signature: "Julian M. Carroll/Governor of Kentucky" in black felt. 3½x2. Julian Morton Carroll (b. 1931) is an American politician from the state of Kentucky. Elected to the Kentucky House of Representatives in 1961 and to the House's speakership in 1968, he was elected Lieutenant Governor in 1971. When Governor Wendell Ford resigned to take a U.S. Senate seat in 1974, Carroll became Governor. He won election to a full term in 1975, serving until 1979. In 1978 he chaired the National Governors' Conference. Returned to the Kentucky Senate in 2004, Carroll was rumored to be considering another run for Governor in 2007. Toned. Corners rounded.
