Typed Letter signed: "Milton J. Shapp" as Governor in black ink. 1 page, 7x9½. Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, 1971 February 18. On official letterhead to Danny Franklin, Sunnyslope, Arizon. In full: "Thank you very much for your recent letter. I am most pleased to accommodate your wish to secure information about Pennsylvania. I trust that the enclosures [not included] will be helpful in stimulating an awareness of the operation and function of government. Thank you for writing. Sincerely". Milton Shapp (1912-1994) was Governor of Pennsylvania (1971-1979). He sought the Democratic Presidential nomination in 1976. Slightly soiled in blank upper margin. Otherwise, fine condition.
