RICHARD LAMMColorado Governor famed for his provocative remarks, signs on this 4¼x5¼ sheet in ink Signature: "Richard D. Lamm", 4¼x5½ sheet. Printed sheet from State of Colorado Executive Chambers with text: "Here is the material that you requested.". After a successful campaign to get Denver to withdraw from hosting the 1976 Winter Olympics, Democrat Richard Lamm (1935-2021) served three terms as Governor of Colorado (1975-1987). In 1996, he unsuccessfully challenged Ross Perot for the presidential nomination of the Reform Party. (His 1985 novel, 1988, portrayed a former Democratic Governor running for President on a third-party ticket.) Never one to pull his punches, Lamm endorsed physician-assisted suicide in 1984 with the statement that "We have a duty to die." In his 2006 book, Two Wands, One Nation, Lamm claimed that the best way to combat poverty in America would be to infuse slum-dwellers "with Japanese or Jewish values, respect for learning and ambition." Light crease and paperclip impression in upper left corner. Otherwise, fine condition.
