Typed Letter Signed: “Robert T. Stafford” in black ink. 8½x11. One page. Writen on an offical United States Senate letterhead. Dated: October 24, 1986. No place. In full:Mr. David Coxon, 4413 Shoen Ave. Las Vegas, NV 89110. Dear David: I have received your mom's letter of October 19th and it's request. Enclosed is that picture. Good luck with your collection! Sincerely yours, Robert T. Stafford. United States Senator, enclosure RTS/mef”. Robert Theodore Stafford (1913-2006) was an American politician who in his lengthy career of 34 consecutive years served as the 71st Governor of Vermont, a United States Representative and a U.S. Senator. A Northeastern Republican, he was generally considered a liberal or “Rockefeller” Republican. He is best remembered for his staunch environmentalism, his efforts and work on higher education and his support, as an elder statesman, for the 2000 Vermont law legalizing civil unions for gay couples.  Lightly toned. One horizontal fold. Otherwise, fine condition.
