GRANT MacEWAN. Photograph signed: "Grant MacEwan". B/w, 4¼x5¾. John Walter Grant MacEwan (1902-2000) was Lieutenant Governor of Alberta from 1966-1974. An agriculturist, historian and author, MacEwan was Professor of Animal Husbandry and Director of the School of Agriculture at the University of Saskatchewan from 1928-1941 and Dean of Agriculture and Home Economics at the University of Manitoba from 1946-1951. Over his career as an agriculturist, MacEwan wrote a number of books and articles, and he was an editor for agricultural journals. MacEwan had begun his political career by serving as a Calgary Alderman from 1953-1958, and he was Mayor of Calgary from 1963-1965. Slightly creased. Light paper clip impression at upper right margin and background. Overall, fine condition.
