Gretchen Whyler (1932-2007, born Gretchen Winnecke in Bartlesville, Oklahoma) appeared in a long list of made-for-television movies and TV series, from The NBC Comedy Hour (two episodes in 1956) to Judging Amy, Providence and Chicken Soup for the Soul (all 2000). Her Broadway credits included Guys and Dolls, Silk Stockings, Damn Yankees and Bye Bye Birdie. Among her film credits were Private Benjamin (1980) and The Marrying Man (1991).
