Postcard Photograph signed: "Groucho" on verso. B/w, 4x5. Typed address on verso, postmarked Los Angeles, California, date illegible, but bearing an 8-cent Eisenhower stamp. The leader of the zany Marx Brothers, Julius "Groucho" Marx (1890-1977) enjoyed success in vaudeville, on Broadway, in motion pictures and on television. He was famous for his crouched walk, outrageous mustache, ever-present cigar and lecherous glances at female co-stars. The most popular Marx Brothers films, which remain cult favorites, include Duck Soup (1933) and A Night at the Opera (1935). Groucho hosted the radio and TV comedy quiz show, You Bet Your Life (1950-1961). Slightly creased. Ink notations (unknown hand) on signature side. Part of typed address has been inked out.
