Black and white 4x6 publicity photograph of the 1999 Nobel Prize-winner for Literature
Photograph signed: "Günter/Grass". B/w, 4¼x6 overall, image 4x5 (one surface). German novelist and social critic Günter Grass (1927-2015) was awarded the 1999 Nobel Prize for Literature for his body of work, which included his first novel, The Tin Drum (1959), the first of his The Danzig Trilogy. The trilogy, which also included Cat and Mouse and Dog Years, captured German reaction to the rise of Nazism, the horrors of war and the nation's guilt following Hitler's regime. Fine condition.
