CARMEN LOMBARDO
The saxophone player signs his name in black ink
Signature: "Carmen Lombardo", in black ink, 3¾x2½. Carmen Lombardo (1903-1971), one of the musically talented Canadian Lombardo siblings, played sax and flute in brother Guy Lombardo's orchestra, soon called the Royal Canadians, from shortly after its formation. His distinctive sax sound was a trademark of the band, which charted a hit every year from 1929 through 1952. Carmen's death in 1971 was a big blow to the Royal Canadians. Adhesive residue on top left margin. Corners lightly worn. Heavily toned. Slightly soiled. Tape on verso. Otherwise, fine condition.
