5½x4½ album leaf. With a 1¼x1¾ black and white newspaper photograph of Madison
affixed (2 surfaces). American musician and actor Guy Mitchell (1927-1999)
was born in Detroit, Michigan. An immensely popular singer in the U.S. and
internationally, with hits like "My Heart Cries for You", "Singing the
Blues", "Heartaches by the Number" and "My Truly Truly Fair"; his records
have sold over $40,000,000 copies. Later in his career he worked in
Hollywood and appeared in 13 films and television series between 1953 and 1992
including Red Garters (1954), Mirth and Melody (1956),
Whispering Smith (1961) and The Wild Westerners (1962). In 1957,
he hosted his own variety show, The Guy Mitchell Show. Ink note (unknown hand) at bottom edge.
