Contract signed: "Guy Mitchell", 2 pages, 8½x11. New York, N.Y., 1955 August 15. Mitchell agrees to receive only half of his usual royalty on copies of his records sold through the Columbia Record Club, and to waive royalty payments entirely on bonus or promotional distribution of his records through the Club. Signed on page 2. American pop singer and actor Guy Mitchell (1927-1999) was born in Detroit, Michigan. An immensely popular singer in the U.S. and internationally, with hits like "My Heart Cries for You" (which went gold in (1950), "My Truly, Truly Fair" (gold in 1951), "Singing the Blues" (a #1 hit in 1956), and "Heartaches by the Number" (#1 in 1961). His record sales topped $40,000,000. Later in his career he worked in Hollywood and appeared in 13 films and television series between 1953 and 1992 including Red Garters (1954), Mirth and Melody (1956), Whispering Smith (1961) and The Wild Westerners (1962). In 1957, he hosted his own variety show, The Guy Mitchell Show. Normal mailing folds. Staple holes at top left corner. Lightly creased. otherwise, fine condition.
