Autograph letter signed: "Hi Phillips" in black ink. 8½x11. Written on letterhead of The Sun to "Dear Sobel-", in full: "Thanks for the book boost and the reminder of the old days. Everybody evidently saw it, and it was fine of you. As ever". H.I. Phillips(1889-1965) was anewspaper columnist and editor for The New York Sun. His humor columns were syndicated throughout the country. In addition to his journalist endeavors, Phillips wrote fictional books that were turned into Broadway plays. These productions include Thumbs Up! (1934-1935), Ziegfeld Follies of 1934 (1934), and Ginger (1923). Lightly toned. Corners rounded and creased. Horizontal and vertical folds. Otherwise, fine condition.
