HALL OF FAME BASEBALL 17 players enshrined in Cooperstown signed this National League baseball. Official Rawlings National League baseball signed in ballpoint by 17 Hall of Famers: Ernie Banks (fountain pen) and Ray Dandridge on the sweet-spot, Bob Doerr, Eddie Mathews, Enos Slaughter, Judy Johnson, Bob Feller, Lou Boudreau, Ralph Kiner, Robin Roberts, Whitey Ford (twice), Frank Robinson, Luke Appling, Hoyt Wilhelm, Billy Williams, Juan Marichal, Al Kaline. These players are from an era when players did not change teams so often, so most are closely associated with one team: Yankees (Ford), Red Sox (Doerr), Cubs (Banks, Williams), Braves (Mathews), Cardinals (Slaughter), Indians (Feller and Boudreau), Pirates (Kiner), Phillies (Roberts), White Sox (Appling), Giants (Marichal) and Tigers (Kaline). The Reds and Orioles can lay almost equal claim to Frank Robinson, since the Reds foolishly traded him the year before he won the AL MVP. Wilhelm pitched for 10 teams in his long career. Ray Dandridge and Judy Johnson could have starred for any team had baseball been an integrated sport in their day, but instead they excelled in the Negro Leagues. Nine of these baseball greats have passed away as of early 2011 (Wilhelm, Dandridge, Johnson, Mathews, Slaughter, Boudreau, Feller, Roberts and Appling), so this classic collection could no longer be duplicated. In fine condition, with a few spots of mild toning. Previously authenticated by JSA.
