Photograph captures Hank Aaron after hitting 600th home run!
Photograph signed: "Hank Aaron". B/w, 9x7¼ overall, image 8½x6 (one surface). Depicts Aaron's 600th home run. Captioned at upper margin, in part: "(Giants-Braves) Atlanta - Superstar Hank Aaron heads for the Plate with his 600th career home run in the 3rd inning of the San Francisco Atlanta Game 4/27. Babe Ruth and Willie May (sic) are the only three major league players to hold the honor. Giants Tito Fuentes watches." Hall of Famer Hank Aaron played for the Braves in Milwaukee (1954-1965) and Atlanta (1966-1974). He holds the record for hitting more home runs in his career than any other player (755), passing Babe Ruth's 714. Aaron is synonymous with home runs, but there was much more to Hammerin' Hank than his 755 round-trippers. He also set all-time marks for the most games, at bats, total bases and RBI's; and his batting average over 23 seasons was .305-indications of the all-around ability of this quiet man from Mobile. The NL MVP in 1957, Aaron appeared in a record 24 All-Star contests with the Braves (Milwaukee and Atlanta) and Brewers. Minor surface creases and scratches (most not evident head on). UPI stamp on verso. Overall, fine condition.
