HANK AARON
Hall of Fame slugger.
Collection: 1) Baseball Hall of Fame Plaque Postcard signed: "Hank Aaron". Color, 3½x5½. Fine condition. 2) Baseball signed: "Hank Aaron" on the sweet-spot. Rawlings Official National League Baseball, William D. White, President. Slightly soiled. Fine condition. Hall of Famer Aaron played for the Braves in Milwaukee (1954-1965) and Atlanta (1966-1974). From 1974 to 2007, he held the record for most career home runs (755), surpassing Babe Ruth's old record of 714 and finally edged out by Barry Bonds' 762. There was much more to Hammerin' Hank than his round-trippers. He also set all-time marks for the most games, at bats, total bases and RBI's; and his batting average over 23 seasons was .305-indications of the all-around ability of this quiet man from Mobile. The N.L. MVP in 1957, he appeared in a record 24 All-Star contests with the Braves (Milwaukee and Atlanta) and Brewers. Two items. Presented in Gallery of History pedestal style: base, 12½x6¼x2; Hall of Fame Postcard in 4½x6¾x¼ case; ball in 3x3x3-inch case.
