HANK COCHRAN
Hank Cochran signs authorization for Pamper Music to make a payment on his behalf
Document Signed: "Hank Cochran", 1p, 8½x11 pink paper, in a stamped acknowledgement to a letter from Pamper Music Inc., Goodlettsville, Tennessee, 1966 July 22, Cochran authorizes Pamper to deduct from his royalty income $215.00 for insurance on his boat. Accompanied by an unsigned copy of an invoice from Insurance Company of North America. Hank Cochran (born 1934) was a child of the great depression. After running away from an orphanage in Tennessee, he ended up hitchhiking between Mississippi and New Mexico with his uncle who taught him to play guitar. He moved to Nashville in 1960 and played at bars where he was instrumental in encouraging others to look at Willie Nelson. Although he released five albums in his own voice between 1963 and 1980, Cochran was best known as a country songwriter. He wrote two of Patsy Cline's biggest hits: "I Fall To Pieces" and "She's Got You". Ray Price and Eddie Arnold both hit with "Make the World Go Away" and Burl Ives' Cochran hits include "A Little Bitty Tear". No. 1 hits for George Strait, Merle Haggard, Ronnie Milsap and Mickey Gilley were also penned by Cochran. Staple in upper left. Ink notes (unknown hand) on both. Otherwise, fine condition.
