This revival of Irene ran from March 13, 1973-September 8, 1974, for a total of 594 performances. Star Debbie Reynolds was nominated for the 1973 Tony Award for Best Actress in a Musical, George S. Irving, whom Conried replaced as Madame Lucy, won the 1973 Tony Award for Best Featured Actor in a Musical and the play received two additional 1973 Tony Award nominations: Patsy Kelly for Best Featured Actress in a Musical and Best Choreography. Stage, screen and television actor Hans Conried (1917-1982) began his acting career on radio, often in Shakespearean roles. By the 1950s, he was much in demand as a TV guest star, usually in comic parts. Conried supplied the voice of Captain Hook in Walt Disney's Peter Pan (1953) and of another villain, Snidely Whiplash, in the popular TV cartoon Rocky and Bullwinkle (1961-1963). A strong supporting actor in films from the 1950s, he had an occasional starring role (Three for Bedroom C, 1952; My Six Loves (1963). Lightly creased. Soiled at blank areas. Irregular left edge from removal from bound book. Overall, fine condition.
